Before your appointment

To ensure the best possible results, we recommend applying olive oil or ear oil prior to your visit. This softens the wax and gives us the best chance of successful removal in a single session.

  • Apply 2 to 3 drops of oil 3 or 4 times a day for five days before your visit.
  • Do not plug your ears with cotton wool; this absorbs the oil rather than letting it reach the canal.
  • Administer drops while lying on your side to allow the oil to soak in effectively.

Tip: You may find it easiest to apply the drops just before sleep and immediately upon waking.

So, what happens next?

It is completely normal for your ear to feel a little odd immediately after your appointment. This sensation is temporary and typically subsides within 30 minutes.

Long-term Care

To maintain your ear health, avoid using cotton buds or any other objects inside the ear canal. This can lead to impaction, infection, or damage to the eardrum.

Clinical Note

If you experience persistent discomfort, swelling, discharge, or a sudden change in hearing after your appointment, please consult your GP as soon as possible.

Why choose Microsuction?

At Clearwax, we use microsuction because it is the "gold standard." Unlike traditional syringing, it does not use high-pressure water, making it significantly safer and more comfortable for our clients.
